Rooted For Greatness

 

This is why I do this…I received this from one of my adolescent clients when I was leaving from my therapist position at a group counseling practice here in Maryland.  And no, I am not fluent in French…I’m still working on mastering the English language 😂.  Prior to this position, I just KNEW that I wanted to have my own private counseling practice; to be my own boss, to enact change the RIGHT way for my clients, and to carve out my legacy.  But private practice is NOT for the faint of heart and I became apprehensive of the possibility of taking this step after working for the group practice; where I worked long hours and had no guarantee of how much money I may take home if clients failed to show for their appointments.  This fear; left unchecked, would have inevitably kept me away from my own greatness, and I would also be a hypocrite.  I am blessed with some of the most influential and supportive people in my life who remind me that I can do anything that I set my mind to, that I have the skills and abilities, that I CAN.  

And here we are….

Rooted For Greatness was formed by myself and my colleague/friend Jasmine as progressive step towards our professional greatness as we support others towards their own personal greatness.  We all were created to do great things; however, life and circumstances can oftentimes cause us to fear taking certain risks.

Perhaps one of these things has hindered you from your “try”:

• Education
• Family
• Finances
• Location
• Access to Resources

Our hope is that through this site (and ongoing strides towards growing our private practice) that we can help send a little encouragement/help/support your way to where you will no longer see these as hindrances; but more as springboards towards greatness.
